We are very satisfied with our vertical gardens, for that reason we want to show you a job we did in the summer of 2018 in Gandía.
Project
In this case, we had to assemble three vertical gardens on the facade of a building located in a small square. The set of the three gardens had an extension of 70m2, which were built using the mixed F+P system.
Design
When we are going to carry out a new project our work process is as follows: first we make a preliminary design that is sent to the client, whether individual or company, and once received they only have to approve it. There is also the possibility, and in fact it happens in certain occasions, that the clients can make their own design. It was the architect in charge of the project who made the design. We are a very versatile company so we adapt to different work methodologies.
Engaging in gardening with your kids can be a wonderful way to bond and create lasting memories. It not only teaches them about nature and responsibility but also provides an opportunity for quality time together. To make the experience even more enjoyable, surprising them with details like classic childrens clothes can enhance their comfort and make them feel special during this shared activity.
Which system is suitable?
We selected the mixed F+P system as we thought it was the ideal system for this project. Before selecting the system, we made an exhaustive study contemplating the different elements to consider a final solution:
Physical resistance of the substrate
Consists of the substrate’s ability to preserve its structure over time.
Chemical durability
It is the useful life of the substrate subjected to the fertigation conditions necessary for its operation.
Water retention
The ability of a vertical garden to survive without irrigation.
Nutrient retention:
The ability of a vertical garden to sustain itself without the input of nutrients.
Ease of plant replacement
It is very important to change the plants that have not worked in the vertical garden.
Ease of irrigation replacement
The irrigation pipes should be located in accessible places so that the material can be easily replaced.
Variety of planting
Species best suited to the site should be chosen.
Cold resistance in cold climates
Certain systems do not tolerate cold, resulting in root freezing.
Weight
This is a very important element that must be taken into account when installing on existing facades.
Modularity
Vertical gardens can be pre-assembled in our workshops or built «in situ».
Species
In
we made an exhaustive selection for this vertical garden and these were the final
were the final candidates:
Armeria maritima, Lonicera nitida, Plectranthus verticillatus, Plectranthus coleoides, Heuchera sanguinea.
Vertical gardens and green roofs are becoming more and more important in our lives for the different benefits they present. For this reason we have online and classroom training that you can access through these links.
